UK study on windfarm noise: a disgrace

"A Government study into the noise effects of wind farms has been described as a ‘disgrace’ because it fails to take into account the problem of sleep deprivation and other health issues."

This comes on the heels of criticism by Denmark's top acoustician, Professor Henrik Moeller, who denounced his government for manipulating studies and regulations on noise emitted by windfarms.

Windfarm scandal in Denmark

A study being carried out in Canada on the same topic has been criticised by concerned physicians: 1) for using a defective, biased methodology, which for instance does not include measurements of infrasound , and 2) for being carried out by people whose jobs depend on pleasing the government.

Canada Free Press | Wind farm victims are not enthused with Health Canada’s announcement

As is the case for studies on bird and bat mortality at windfarms, government-sponsored research on the effects of noise emitted by wind turbines cannot be trusted. For one thing, low frequency sound - and especially infrasound - are being ignored. Yet infrasound can travel as far as 40 km*, and it is known to cause sleep deprivation, among other effects on the body. With time, this can have serious consequences on the health of people who are subject to this bombardment.
